My Status!

Synopsis: Ingrid, a chambermaid in Castle August, has a problem. Forget the Princesses she has to pamper, or how many have run screaming from the debonair Prince George, or even the rivaling journalist competing for Ingrid’s dream as a member of The Royal Courier. No, she has bigger problems than minimum wage, legally blondes, and potential lovers.

Ingrid Osten has contracted the Sleeping Beauty Syndrome–a disease only damsels in distress and the occasional Princess contracts.

“I’m sorry Miss Osten,” the doctor said. “But it seems either a bit of royalty runs in your family, or some witch has it out for you.”

“Yaga Baba just might,” she murmured to the doctor’s astonished face.

Now she has been banned from the sowing room, put in charge of stable duty (because of her rare talent with sheep), and sentenced to a hundred years of sleep!

Unless, of course, she can find her true love, and true love’s first kiss.

“It’s the other journalist,” she said, biting down eagerly on the hem of her apron. “It has to be him.”

Too bad Prince George has other plans, and a curse of his own.

“You’re a mouse,” she stated to the Prince, “who turns into a prince?”

“No, the other way around,” replied the royalty. “But unlike you, mine’s turning permanent. Now either you help me find Yaga Baba and get me off this curse, or so help me I’ll make sure you’ll never be welcome in Castle August again!”

“And if I do help?”

“I’ll do anything.”

She thought. “A spot on The Royal Courier would be nice.”

“Anything.”

In the end, anything turns out to be much, much more than he ever bargains for.
